Mansfield Town Footwear & Clothing Ltd was delighted to welcome the local Member of Parliament for Mansfield Steve Yemm to our operational base, providing an opportunity to showcase the company’s rapidly expanding textile recycling and export business.

Founded in October 2025, Mansfield Town Footwear & Clothing Ltd has quickly established itself as a significant operator within the UK’s second-hand clothing and footwear sector. The company now operates 235 textile recycling banks across England and Wales and holds service agreements with 67 charity shops nationwide, representing several major national charitable organisations.

During the visit, the MP toured the company’s grading floor, baling equipment, and logistics operation, observing first-hand how collected clothing is sorted, graded and prepared for reuse in both domestic and international markets.

The company also highlighted its recent appointment as an approved partner of Veolia to service Household Waste Recycling Centres across Nottinghamshire on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council and Nottingham City Council. Discussions are underway to replicate this model in neighbouring counties.

The visit focused on:

  • The growth of green jobs within Mansfield

  • The company’s role in diverting textiles from landfill

  • Export markets

  • Plans to increase domestic reuse and direct-to-consumer sales

  • Future expansion and investment in processing capacity

Matthew Evans, Director of Mansfield Town Footwear & Clothing Ltd, said:

“We were pleased to welcome our local MP to see the scale of what is being achieved here in Mansfield. Textile recycling plays a critical role in reducing waste, supporting charities, and creating sustainable employment.
As demand for reused clothing continues to grow globally, we are proud that Mansfield is playing its part in supplying international markets while strengthening the circular economy here in the UK.”

Mansfield Town Footwear & Clothing Ltd continues to expand its operations and is actively investing in additional processing capacity to meet growing demand from international buyers and UK partners.

Supporting Local Businesses

The visit also served as a reminder of the importance of supporting local businesses. When customers choose products made locally and in Britain, they help sustain jobs and encourage further investment. MTFC’s commitment to quality and community shows how local businesses can thrive while contributing to the town’s wellbeing.
